Awhile ago I had this great green gazpacho in Las Vegas. This was months ago and I never forgot how wonderful it was. Found a few recipes online and mixed and matched them. I think this is similar to the one I had. This is refreshing and healthy. My sister says I'm just too lazy to chew my fruits and vegetables. But chewing is for suckers!

Made a few earrings yesterday.

These are the molds I use to make pendants and stuff. These are the biggest and smallest molds I use.

I have a couple of bigger molds, but I don't think my torch can handle that much glass.

Photos from Baz Biz:

Nice turnout and I have to say the organizers were (insert superlative here)!
I was all by my lonesome at my booth and a volunteer got me a tamale for lunch. I showed incredible restraint by not asking a volunteer to get me a funnel cake topped with chocolate chips, but I did work in the word "funnel cake" into every conversation with a customer.

customer 1: "How's it going?"
me: "I want funnel cake."
customer 2: "I see you have one of those electricity efficient credit card machines."
me: "It runs on funnel cake."

Back from baz biz. It was super craftastic. The fair really inspired me to create more stuff and add to the site.

Also, added a new Layerd Amoeba Necklace to my etsy shop. Oh. Wait. Someone just bought it.

Found out I can win a half page ad in Venus Magazine (Chicago-based zine) if I can get the most clicky clickys on my website to their site.

Please be as so kind as to go to my site, Starving Artist Bazaar, and click on the Venuszine banner. Ok? Ok!

(heart),
Jen

Looking through my old portfolio site and found this:

I was into making these little guys that had blowup doll mouths. Kind of funny I have this southwest themed drawing and now I'm living in the southwest.

Last spring my sister and I built this raised bed to plant blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries and mint. Some of the plants didn't survive (no raspberries for us [sigh]) so I used half of it to start a vegetable garden. Can't stop looking over my garden book. I've owned a copy of the Postage Stamp Garden book since I was in high school. It was published in 1975, but it was way ahead of it's time. Organic gardening, friendly bugs, companion vegetables, etc. with groovy illustrations. S'wonderful book! I've already made some mistakes though. Not familiar with the planting schedule here in Phoenix. The kholrabi should be planted in Sept. for harvesting in Dec. Same with mustard greens and brussel sprouts. Now I know!

Inspired by the wish list on decor8, I decided to create my own.

1) The Complete Aubrey/Maturin Novels: Patrick O'Brian - When I was recovering from medical stuff, the O'Brian books were great escapism. I think I reread each book several times.
2) Cream and purple cherry blossom snap clip - When I want to feel extra pretty I wear a flower in my hair. Love that color.
3) Planet marble by Josh Simpson - my obsession. All my loose change goes into my Buddha bank for the marble fund.
4) Complete Series - Veronica Mars (just got it!) I want to share this awesome show with my sister and I haven't seen season 3 yet.
5) Deerman - How can you not want a deerman?

And I really really would like to get a Macbook Pro loaded with Aftereffects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Final Cut Pro.

Changed things up a bit and made some jewelry with semi-precious stones. It was kind of fun going through my old bead stash!

Andrew, this post is for you! Stay safe. Get me a sari.

Fish all colored in. The last one seemed really tough. On the ribs it kills. Maybe I just don't remember how bad the other sessions were.

This is a t-shirt my cousin made for me.

When I went back to Chicago I grabbed my handmade marble collection out of the garage. Now they're all cleaned up and displayed. Ahhhh... Now it feels like home.

The arrows point towards the ones I made. The rest I bought over the years from other marble makers. Now I want more!
